KING CITY As a venue for community gatherings and events, the Salinas Valley Fair is evaluating meetings and celebrations of 50 or more persons for cancellation or postponement through April 30th.
CEO TJ Plew stated, “We are monitoring recommendations and implementing best practices for mass gatherings issued by the Centers for Disease Control and State Public Health Officials”.
The Salinas Valley Fair Board of Directors is holding an Emergency meeting to review plans for their April 25th Fair Kick-Off and for the 76th Salinas Valley Fair.  Following their emergency meeting, the board will convene again for their regularly scheduled board meeting on Thursday, March 26th .  At each session directors and staff will discuss the annual Salinas Valley Fair as a regular course of business with these special circumstances.
“We wish to have everyone continue to get their fair entries in, due April 1st.  For those concerned about participating in the Fair, we will publish a refund policy for exhibitors, vendors, and participants who are unable to participate as a result of the COVID-19 virus”, said Plew.
She goes on to add, “We appreciate everyone’s understanding as we make these decisions to keep our community and staff safe and healthy. At this time, we are expected to proceed with organizing our 76th Salinas Valley Fair, May 14-17, 2020 in King City”.
Persons with questions concerning upcoming events should contact the fair by phone at 831-385-3243 or email the fair at svf@salinasvalleyfair.com.  The email is monitored around the clock and is the best way to contact fair staff outside of normal business hours. Emails sent in Spanish will be translated and replied to using a translation application.
